Realities of a Remodel

Many of our clients across West Kirby and the Wirral have experience with home renovation projects, but for those new to the process, understanding the next steps in your kitchen installation journey is essential. We have put together a few key tips to help you feel confident, informed, and in control from the very beginning.

At James James Kitchens, we believe a successful kitchen remodel should feel exciting and rewarding, with clear planning and realistic expectations at every stage. To support this, we focus on three core elements throughout every bespoke kitchen project: price, schedule, and design. Keeping these aligned ensures you remain fully involved and informed as your new kitchen takes shape.

It is important to recognise that unexpected challenges or design adjustments can sometimes arise during installation. These can impact cost, timelines, and final design details if not managed effectively. That is why clear, ongoing communication with your kitchen designer and installer is essential.

By maintaining open dialogue ahead of your kitchen delivery and installation date, it helps ensure a smooth, efficient process and a result that reflects your vision for a bespoke kitchen.

Contracts & Agreements

We always ask our clients to read our Terms & Conditions fully prior to signing your Contract for your kitchen order.  It is always a good idea to have a signed contract and agreement in place detailing what is expected from any other contractor you may instruct.

Schedule

Our schedule of works keeps you informed with projected start and completion dates for your kitchen installation. While we plan carefully, timelines can shift due to factors such as delivery delays, damaged items, weather conditions, or unforeseen site issues like hidden pipework.

Contractors

As a design company, we have built strong relationships with a network of trusted and reputable tradespeople across various disciplines. This allows us to confidently connect you with experienced professionals who can deliver high-quality workmanship and reliable service.

Tradespeople in the House

During your installation process you will have several people working in your home.  It is a good idea to establish house rules that will keep things comfortable.

Escape the site

If possible, consider arranging temporary living space away from the main renovation area during your kitchen installation. All installers we work with follow strict Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, ensuring a safe, well-managed working environment at all times.

Hidden challenges

Your kitchen designer and kitchen installer will find solutions for any challenges that arise. These occurrences are a normal part of any home project and a certain amount of change should be expected. The result is worth the challenge.

Keeping on Top of Things

If you choose to undertake the project management of any build work, a deciding factor will be to look at what you feel your own time is worth.

Whether you have a project manager or not, it is important that you understand the timetables and check that work is proceeding as planned.
